"The Bill contains a clause that will end local decision making over use of publicly owned land. As Schnews puts it, this ends the rights of Council’s: in granting or denying planning consent, cancels any rights of way or any need to ask the people of England and Wales if they mind losing their parks, playing fields, allotments, woodlands, public facilities or village greens to housing developers, fracking companies, road- or railway-builders. It’s the land grab to end all land grabs."
As you read the piece it gets worse and worse...
If you do nothing else, then please try and sign this (against the sell-off of the Land Registry)
And this (against the Infrastructure Bill itself).
If you're feeling particularly feisty, mail a link to all this to your local Green or Labour Party network (or both!), and write a letter to your MP, kicking up shit, asking him for his views on the Bill and telling him how this will make him look to voters if he supports it, especially if letters were written to a local paper, radio, etc saying their MP wants to give over public land, parks, etc.
G'wan - kick up some shit!
