Self-critique: arguably, all I am doing here is aggregating content with minimal comment: is that not itself also a form of curating / gatewaying? But, ha. I've linked / reposted stuff from the excellent Sahelsounds label / site before - and the Pirate Book site lead me back again. A couple new recent albums have appeared; must buy a vinyl or css off these guys - it really is excellent stuff. (Shame about postal / importation charges from the US; it's getting crazy. £50 of tapes, etc recently cost me an additional (and unexpected!) £30+ thanks to privatised Royal Mail on top of US Mail postage. Just can't afford to do it any more. If someone told me how to buy directly from African musicians, from source, I would.) Here's a sniff:
