I like it when he writes about writing / process, particularly little two-para blips like this; he's unsentimental-but-encouraging in all the right ways. His micro-piece about so-called "Writers Block" a few years ago was a bloody classic. Back in the early / mid-90s, back when he was breaking through himself, he wrote a monthly column in Steve Holland's Comic World magazine (was it called "Loose Cannon"? I'm old and keep misplacing my spectacles...) about the lot of an emergent comic-book writer. It was shot through with moans n groans, rants, thoughts, tips and true-life horror stories from the 90's word-processor coal face. I used to disagree with some of his opinions - hey, what the hell did I know - but *Christ* he was the only comic-book writer back then who knew who the Aphex Twin was (Morrison had terrible taste in music, it has to be said (laughs)) - but his column was essential reading -- entertaining and shot through with unpalatable little home-truths -- espesh if you were stuck out in the sticks on Planet pre-Internet.
He was always good at writing about writing.
