Me and a couple friends got to hang out with Julian in the late 70s, early 80s, prior to and after The Teardrop Explodes getting big, and then again, after the Big Comedown / Bummerism Years of his fabulous first couple solo albums. JC was - and still remains - an absolutely Top Bloke.
Top marks to Mister Lee for getting in references to 70's NEL exploitation books, Sven Hassel and Robert E Howard. Small world alert: he bought some 2nd-hand REH paperbacks off of one of my JC-co-hangin' mates a few years ago. The circle is closed / circuit fully open.
