Some lovely, lovely work from Mr Burns, as ever. I particularly dig a panel towards the end of a taxi-ing spacecraft on a run-way, with futuristic helicopters taking off in the background. It's proper Old School. A real Gerry Anderson moment. I love it. John always says he doesn't like drawing SF, but he's so damn good at it.
The writing: well, I think / hope I started improving a little bit during that series, but I'm cursed to only see the clunky bits of my work and think about how I could've done it better. I seem to remember the episodes were 4 pages each. A neat challenge to keep the story rolling; again, that's kinda Old School -- the weekly comics I grew up with in the 60s were 2 or 2 page serials and it taught folks like Pat Mills and John Wagner to do more with less - in fact, they thrived on it - so 4 pages was a luxury! Still, definitely worth checking for John's always-amazing work.
