Erm, crazystonerlogic compositions / cinematic interludes that remind me of some of that classic Mid / Late Ought-o Lieven Martens / Bread & Animals tape motherlode. Nothing could ever quite surpass that stuff for its sheer utterly intuitive wrongfootedness (espesh that Gremlins css) – and it pains me that lazyass genre-taggerblogs binned it as mere 'New Age', when it's clearly moooore than that, but hey – this tape gamefully gives it its best shot and the bestest bits are deliriously bonkers.
Some of it is Fifth Worldish / ethnodelic DMT-Futurism (and you know I dig that shit) with a detuned 'Jazz' undertow, n some of it is pure gloopily-luminous electronic Acid emanations. Elsewhere, y'get broken Jam & Spoon-erisms, as if they'd simultaneously been born 15 years too early and 15 years too late. Mostly there's a cool mushroom-season mix-tape vibe going on. The Beatles / Merseybeat Era radio gets a shoe-in too (like some Brit-tinged flashback to Third Reich and Roll). The “Midnight on Bald / Sugar Plum Mountain” insertion goes on slightly too long – tho dude's right to point out Disney as an entry-drug, etc. The root vegetable skit is a stone classic, though.
